Clear Light Acne Therapy

What is ClearLight?

ClearLight is a unique new therapeutic light that treats acne. ClearLight uses the innovative Acne PhotoClearing (APC) technology to destroy the bacteria that causes acne quickly and easily.

How effective is it?

ClearLight is the fastest acne therapy available. It effectively clears most inflammatory acne in just one month (see graph below). This is just one-third the time of traditional methods.

Is it safe? Are there any side effects?

ClearLight is one of the safest acne treatments available. Its APC technology uses light that is UV-safe. With ClearLight there are no known side effects.

However, traditional acne treatments can have a variety of side effects. Topical therapies like creams and lotions often cause redness, irritation, and/or peeling. Oral therapies, like antibiotics, may have other side effects. Both may require at least 3 months of continuous treatment; conditions often become worse before they improve, and scarring remains an issue.

Who can be treated by ClearLight?

Almost anyone. ClearLight was proven to be very effective on mild to moderate acne. Pregnant women and people with photosensitivity should consult with their physician. Since most people can benefit from treatment, talk to your doctor about ClearLight.

What happens during ClearLight treatment? Does it hurt?

With ClearLight, a typical treatment session takes only 10 to 20 minutes. You lie comfortably while the treated area is exposed to the therapeutic light; sometimes there is a slight warm sensation. ClearLight treatment is described as easy, even relaxing, but most importantly painless and safe. Patients often listen to music while being treated.

How many treatments are required?

Your doctor can tell you about the treatment plan that is right for you. It will involve a series of ClearLight treatment sessions, typically twice a week for 4 weeks. It is important to keep the treatment appointments recommended by your doctor. By following the treatment plan you’ll see maximum results and enjoy clearer skin.

A Few Facts About Acne

Studies indicate that most people experience acne in some form at some time in their life. Acne usually begins during adolescence but often continues into adulthood. Hormonal changes cause the enlargement and blocking of the oil-producing sebaceous glands near the hair follicles within the skin.

Acne usually begins with an abnormal amount of bacteria, mainly propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes). This typically causes painful pimples known as inflamed pustules of acne or inflammatory acne that can appear on the face, ches the skin.

Can ClearLight be combined with other acne treatments?

Yes, ClearLight can be combined with the traditional acne treatments. It is not uncommon for patients to be maintained on certain topical medicines while doing ClearLight treatments.
