1. His Real Name Isn’t Alden Richards

Alden Richards is a clever play on his real name: Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr. He is lovingly called RJ by his close friends and kin.

2. He Was a Star Student at DLSU-Canlubang

Richards studied in De La Salle University-Canlubang, majoring in Business Management. In the school, he was classmates with fellow heartthrob Juancho Trivino. Trivino testifies to how Richards was a bright student, “Magaling siya sa lahat [ng subjects] kasi sobrang talino niya. Magaling siyang mag-recite at sa oral presentations.”

3. He Lost 20–25 Pounds for His Role in Hello, Love, Goodbye

His recent movie Hello, Love, Goodbye with Kathryn Bernardo is a box office hit. It also proved how Alden is just beginning to show us what he’s capable of. Alden was very dedicated to the film and his role as he shed 20 to 25 pounds in a month and a half to make his OFW character, Ethan, more convincing!

4. He Auditioned for Starstruck and Pinoy Big Brother Before His Big Break

Before his big break at Eat Bulaga, Alden auditioned for reality shows. While he didn’t make the cut, other windows opened and brought him to where he is now!

5. He Won Best Actor at the PMPC Star Awards

Alden’s acting career has been growing at a steady pace. In 2015, he got a citation from PMPC: a Best Actor Award for his role in Ilustrado.

6. He Published a Book in 2016

In 2016, he became book author with In My Own Words which was released August of that year with much fervour.

7. He Regularly Visits Children’s Homes and Gives Back to the Community

Since Alden knows what it is like to have a tough life, he’s never failed to look back despite the achievements. He frequents Holy Trinity Home for Children to celebrate his birthday and on other days even when there’s no special occasion.
