The Power of Non-Invasive Facial Lifting: How Emface Works

By Ysabel Vitangcol on January 11, 2024

As part of the beauty trends to watch out for this year, Emface is just one of the many modern treatments that promise remarkable results without the need to do it invasively. Read on to find out more about this powerful treatment!

What is Emface?

Emface has redefined the concept of facial lifting, offering a rejuvenating experience that enhances natural beauty. “Emface works in the skin and the muscles of the face at the same time. This involves no needles involved.” says Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr. “As we get older, our face loses its firmness and it starts to sag. That’s because our muscles aren’t as strong and our skin loses its elasticity or stretchiness.”

This treatment employs state-of-the-art technology. These harness the powers of radiofrequency (RF) and High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation (HIFES™) Technology. These stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. Unlike invasive surgeries, Emface focuses on remodelling the facial contours, reducing fine lines, and promoting a more youthful appearance. All these are possible without the risks associated with surgery.

Is Emface for me?

Emface is suitable typically for patients in their mid-30’s and above. Dr. Hayden Kho Jr. also adds that it’s great for “both girls and guys that want to tone their facial muscles, to smooth out wrinkles and get that defined look back.” However, it’s important to note that Emface is not a replacement for surgical facelifts. While Emface has demonstrated modest skin and tissue lifting effects, it may not achieve the same level of results as surgical procedures.

“It’s [a] very subtle [lift], but it’s effective,” he says.

How Does Emface work?

It’s very simple, really! During an Emface treatment, electrical stimulation targets the motor nerves responsible for the forehead and cheek muscles, causing them to contract. One treatment can produce up to 75,000 electrical pulses (but don’t worry, you won’t feel a thing!).Emface utilises radio frequency (RF) energy to penetrate the skin’s surface and stimulate the production of collagen, the essential protein responsible for skin elasticity. This tightens loose or sagging skin, resulting in a more lifted and youthful appearance.

Meanwhile, HIFES™ technology targets the deep layers of the skin. This non-invasive technique promotes cellular renewal and enhances the skin’s natural healing mechanisms, contributing to improved texture and tone. Overall, the combination of these energies addresses both aspects of facial ageing, leading to a more lifted and youthful appearance.

Walk through the Emface treatment

The device’s three electrodes are placed in strategic points of the patient’s face. This is where the machine focuses on the muscles that are responsible for lifting the patient’s brows and cheeks.

Emface Treatment

Patients will feel a warming sensation as the RF is emitted and involuntary facial scrunching as the HIFES™ energy contracts your muscles. It’s painless! Many of our patients even describe it as a facial massage, some even falling asleep in the midst of the treatment. “It’s as if your muscles are doing mini workouts, but it’s gentle and relaxing,” says. Dr. Hayden Kho Jr.

The patient can expect less wrinkles and more lift, improving facial muscle volume and skin density. Each treatment lasts around 20 to 30 minutes.

How often is Emface done?

Depending on your doctor’s recommendation, Emface is typically done once a week. It may be spaced two to fourteen days apart. Typically, four sessions are needed. However, the number of sessions will still ultimately lie on the patient’s specific needs and goals.

When will I see Emface’s results and how long do these last?

Clinical studies have shown that patients achieved 30% muscle tone and 19% muscle density gains after four Emface treatments! Patients see noticeable results one to three months after the final treatment. These can last up to 18 months with the right skincare regimen and maintenance. Although results may vary due to other factors, it’s still recommended to bring this up with your Belo doctor to help meet the patient’s goals and establish expectations.

Belo Emface starts at ₱38,000 per session, available in Belo Alabang, BGC, Cebu, Conrad, Greenbelt, Greenhills and TriNoma. You may also check out our Emface offers. Give us a call at 8819-BELO (2356) or click here to book a consultation!
