The Treatment Alex Gonzaga Tried to Get Rid of “Tuka Ng Ahas” Marks

By Ysabel Vitangcol on February 6, 2021

Behind Alex Gonzaga’s hilarious YouTube vlogs and happy-go-lucky vibe is a girl who also deals with the occasional breakout. Yes, celebs are like us regular peeps whose skin revolts from the presence of impurities and clogged pores. So what does she do to zap away those pesky zits? Scroll on, ‘cause we’re spilling her secret for her flawless complexion today.

Right before 2020 ended, Alex got the chance to try Belo ADVALight. The first yellow laser and the only one of its kind in the Philippines, the ADVALight is Alex’s way of treating what she calls her “tuka ng ahas” marks, or those pimples that tend to appear in pairs.

ADVALight has two settings. The first is the ADVAYouth mode, which is more for anti-ageing. It helps firm up the skin by stimulating its elastic and collagen production. If you deal with hyperpigmentation, the ADVAYouth can help with that too! It’s also a great treatment for people who want to maintain their youthful glow or neutralize the harmful effects of extended UV ray exposure.

But if you’re concerned about treating your acne breakouts as well as the dark marks these leave behind, then you should ask for the ADVAClear mode. It uses pure yellow and high-powered infrared laser energy with two different wavelengths to literally zap away your acne-related problems. This includes rosacea and acne but you can also get it to make the small, emphasized veins on your skin less visible.

Also, if you want to make your pores look smaller or lessen the oiliness of your skin, Dr. Vicki Belo also recommends this laser treatment. The yellow laser actually destroys the oil glands that cause excessive sebum production, so your skin will be looking less shiny but will have a nicer glow afterwards.

Do you still feel a bit concerned about the potential pain that the laser will bring? No worries! ADVALight is virtually painless and involves little to no downtime. You’ll only experience some mild redness immediately afterwards but that will fade in a few hours.

So what should you expect after getting an ADVAClear session at Belo?

In an IGTV interview, Alex observed that her pores looked tighter and her skin looked brighter, almost immediately. “The next day, I had a shoot, parang lahat sila [said] ‘Parang there’s something different [with your skin],” she said. “And totoo nga.”

In order to get the maximum benefits of ADVAClear, Dr. Belo recommended Alex to have it done once every six weeks. For you, it will all depend on what your skin needs. All in all, it’s quite a low maintenance commitment isn’t it?

Of course, if you have more questions about the ADVALight treatment then we highly suggest booking an online consultation with one of our Belo doctors. They can help address your concerns and determine whether the ADVAClear or ADVAYouth is the best mode for your skin situation.
