Beauty & Skincare Trends (2025): What to Watch Out For
When people think of liposuction, the first problem areas that come to mind are one’s stomach and thighs. But there’s one area where fat can gather and seriously impede your confidence. Your arms, especially your upper arms, might have some stubborn fat due to aging, slow metabolism, and other factors. So let’s say you’ve decided to take the plunge. You’ve done all you can in terms of diet and exercise, but it’s just not cutting it. Belo Arm Liposuction is now on your calendar! Exciting! But how long does the recovery take, exactly?
It’s best to hear it from people who have tried the procedure themselves (who better to ask, right?). Media practitioner Korina Sanchez tried the procedure in 2018, and here’s what she had to say about her recovery period: “You’ll be a little sore at the beginning, and it takes a while for it to subside. When you’re healing, don’t feel upset, because it’s going to look good. You really just have to heal for a while, and you’ll get the best results.”
Annabelle Lolong, the winner of our arm liposuction giveaway in 2018, also loved her results, but says it took about three to four months before the lumps on her arms subsided. “Manhid pa sa ibang parts ng braso ko, maga pa din at makirot minsan, pero worth the pain!” she shared in a September 2018 Instagram post. I’m so in love with my beautiful arms.” And as you can see in the photo above, her arms continued to improve, even two years later!
Doris Jimenez, Belo Medical Group’s Communications Consultant, debunked a few arm lipo myths in a September 2018 interview. “It’s really not painful. At most, there is discomfort, like your muscles are just sore from exercising. You may also have bruises, but they eventually go away. The most difficult part will be the first 48 hours, because you have small incisions on certain areas of the body where the anesthesia leaks out. But after that, it’s easy-breezy! I was able to go to work the next day and start exercising again after a month.”
“I love my arms now!” she continued. “You’ll see the best results after three months or so. They’re perfectly shaped, and I don’t even have to exercise that hard anymore.”
Veronica “Vonic” Baluyut, our Corporate Affairs and Compliance Officer, finally took the plunge after feeling insecure about her arms. Her recovery went like this: “I went back to work a day after my surgery. My arms felt stiff and sore, and I also experienced some pain and swelling. But I was already expecting this, since my doctor explained this during my consultation. Everything was very tolerable. After the procedure, I had to take a round of meds and clean the incisions twice a day. I also had to wear a compression band.”
In the end, every single person we mentioned here has loved the results of their Belo Arm Liposuction. No regrets here! There will be some post-op care, and there will be some discomfort, but there will also be undeniable results. And we think that makes it all worth it!
