Add This Best Low Calorie Food to Your Meal Plan

By Ysabel Vitangcol on November 23, 2023

You may have done any of our fat burning or sculpting treatments such as 360° Liposuction, or the non-invasive ones such as iWave, Exilis, Onda Coolwaves or V-Contour. While Belo can help you achieve your desired body shape, you must exert the work as well. This goes hand in hand with proper exercises and the right nutrition.

Let’s explore some of the best low-calorie foods! This will not only satisfy your taste buds but also help you stick to your meal plan without feeling deprived! Hear it from our Belo surgeon and Low Carb & Fasting Practitioner, Dr. Josephine Grace Rojo Tan!

High In Nutrients

Those interested in weight loss frequently recommend a low-calorie approach. People generally accept foods that are bulky yet contain a lower amount of calories to fill their stomachs without storing extra energy as fats if not used. A growing body of evidence and testimonials from people who changed their lifestyle believe that a more sustainable path to a healthier diet would be one that elicits lower insulin response in the body.

Nutrient-dense foods that may aid in fat loss and not muscle loss are the following, and you can enjoy them in one to three meals a day until satisfied:

  1. Meat products like beef, pork, chicken, lamb, duck, among others – some of the best source of healthy proteins and natural fats
  2. Eggs – containing mostly proteins and fats
  3. Seafoods like crab, shrimps, shell and fish –  good sources of proteins and omega 3.
  4. Low carb nuts like almond, walnut, macadamia, pili and pecan – can be paired with a slice of cheese as sncks, but no more than a handful
  5. Coffee with heavy cream or butter – also known as bullet-proof coffee, this can be enjoyed occasionally without regular sugar.

Although these foods facilitate fat burning by being low in insulin, it is best to consider a mindful approach to the amount, since fats contain higher calories to ensure that you will burn the fats from your own body and not just the fats coming from your food. Additionally, one can combine low insulin foods and the low-calorie foods mentioned above to achieve the satisfaction of fullness, nutrients, and flavor without adding more bulk to the belly.

How often should I do this, and when can I see the results?

If you haven’t tried this approach yet, you might consider doing it for at least 2 weeks. From there, you can see the difference. Remember to consume enough water and replenish electrolytes! You can ingest a minimum of 1 teaspoon of salt a day to counteract the electrolytes we inevitably lose when adopting a low insulin impact eating.

For a more holistic approach, consider adding exercise, meditation and at least 15 minutes of early morning sun exposure daily!

DISCLAIMER: Not all bodies are the same. It’s best to consult with your physician on what diet plan can work for you. This is also to take into account pre-existing conditions, food allergies and the like before diving in!
