Belo Beautiful Stories: Raheel Bhyria’s Path to Clear Skin
March 21, 2025
For many, breakouts are temporary. But for actress Heaven Peralejo, acne became an overwhelming, months-long battle that tested not only her skin but her self-esteem and self-worth. From dealing with a busy schedule to struggling with cystic acne, she openly shares her journey of overcoming one of her toughest personal challenges.
Heaven first rose to fame on Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in 2016, and since then, she’s been in the public eye. From back-to-back projects, endorsements and events, she finds herself constantly keeping herself busy with both work and hobbies. But behind the scenes, her fast-paced lifestyle started to take a toll on her skin.
“It started with baby pimples,” Heaven recalls. “I wasn’t really eating healthy. I was always tired. Yung lifestyle ko wasn’t really good at that time.”
By last year, her breakouts escalated into severe cystic acne. “Doon na lumabas lahat ng pimples ko. I kept on getting cystic acne,” she confesses. “It kept growing on the same spot. Until it reached the point that my whole face became full of pimples.”
The severity of her acne even affected her daily life. “It came to a point that I couldn’t go out anymore. Imagine, I’m going to the gym wearing make-up? My self-esteem was so low. I know that when you use make-up while sweating, your skin will get worse..”
Understanding the impact acne had on her confidence, Heaven turned to the experts.. “Of course, I went to Belo,” she smiles.
Heaven’s acne journey was not a swift one, let alone easy. It started with a customised treatment plan from her Belo doctor after assessment. Heaven received a customized treatment plan crafted by her dermatologist. Her regimen included:
“Through time, nagiging maayos na,” she says. “It wasn’t instant, but I saw progress.”
Results didn’t happen overnight. But with Belo’s guidance and the right skincare, she started seeing improvements. The process taught her patience. As her skin improved, so did her confidence.
Heaven also speaks out about the pressure women face to look flawless. – and as a popular figure – when it comes to beauty. “I definitely think there’s a double standard with women having acne issues. For women, having a flawless face or flawless skin kasi, it’s linked with beauty, self-care, hygiene, and everything like that.” But her experience in dealing with persistent acne taught her a valuable lesson: Getting pimple? They’re normal. They can happen to anyone.
“[Pimples and acne breakouts] are a common thing for people to have, “ Heaven shares. “We should normalize that people can get it. It’s inevitable.
“I can get acne from time to time and if my face is just gonna have acne, embrace it. Mawawala yan through time, and with the right treatments and medications, of course..”
Her message is clear: “We should normalize acne. It’s part of life. If I get breakouts now, I know Belo is there. I feel confident knowing they can help me anytime.”
Now, with healthier skin and a renewed sense of self-love, Heaven feels empowered. “Sobrang nakakatuwa because now, I feel comfortable in my own skin na parang if I get pimples, I know na andyan ang Belo. I know that they can help me anytime.”
Her message to those struggling with acne?
“Be kind and patient with yourself. With the right lifestyle—and with the help of Belo—everything will be fine. Maybe it’s hormonal, maybe it’s stress or lifestyle, but it’s fixable.”
