Belo Beautiful Stories: Nicka Bunan’s Journey of Confidence and Care Beyond Skin

From teenage acne struggles to motherhood and beyond, businesswoman Nicka Bunan shares how her lifelong journey with Belo has given her not only beauty solutions but also confidence, empowerment, and a safe space she calls home.

Beginnings With Belo

Not even the pouring rain could stop Nicka Buñan from her much-awaited me-time.

A Belo patient since her teenage years, Nicka has always known what she wanted and worked hard for it. As a busy businesswoman and mother, she finds comfort in her regular visits to Belo BGC—her “home branch” for self-care and renewal.

It was her mom, also a loyal Belo patient, who first brought her to Dr. Vicki Belo herself. That first treatment didn’t just clear her skin, it planted the seeds of a lifelong relationship built on trust, care, and transformation.

Her Belo journey began back in high school, when she struggled with acne breakouts that left her feeling insecure. “My first treatment in Belo was for my pimple outbreak. We know that during our teenage years, our body goes through a lot of changes. Mine was a really bad acne breakout, leaving dark spots on my face and it made me really insecure.” she recalled. It was her mom, also a loyal Belo patient, who first brought her to Dr. Vicki Belo herself. “That’s when we decided to go to Dra. Vicki Belo for a consultation. In a few weeks’ time, nawala yung marks,” she shared. 

Through the years, she realised that it wasn’t just about clearing pimples—it was about discovering that beauty solutions could restore confidence. It marked the beginning of her lifelong relationship with Belo.

A Safe Space

From that teenage breakthrough, Nica’s Belo journey grew alongside her life milestones. In college, despite being at her ideal weight, she struggled with stubborn fat that wouldn’t go away even with diet and exercise. Belo became her solution once again, this time through 360° Liposuction for her abdomen and arms.

Over the years, she explored many treatments. Eventually these became some of her favourites: Virtue RF, ASCE+ Exosomes, Botox, Splendor X, and more. “Gosh, ang dami,” she laughs. “I really liked them because these would help me reach my beauty goals.”

But more than the treatments, it was the people of Belo that made her keep coming back. “Belo has become my safe space where I can be myself, like I can vent out and all and feel like I’m not being judged,” she shares. Doctors and staff became more than experts—they became her family. Her relationship with Dr. Jona Macaraeg-Jimenez, Nurse Renz, and of course, Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho Jr., grew from professional to personal. “In every stage of my life, they were there in every milestone.”

Even after pregnancy, when her body went through big changes, Belo was there to guide her back to herself. With compassion and expertise, Dr. Vicki offered her solutions that worked—not just physically, but emotionally, too. “It really helped me bounce back. I thought I’d never return to my old self, but Belo made me realize it was possible.”

Beyond Physical Beauty

Looking back, Nica realizes that Belo has taught her beauty is more than skin deep. “I thought before that beauty was just physical. But Belo showed me that when you feel good about yourself, it radiates in everything. Confidence is beauty.”
