Emsculpt vs. Myosculpt: Which One Should You Try?

By Ysabel Vitangcol on October 27, 2020

Even if you’re religious about getting your daily exercise, sometimes you just need a little extra help to achieve your dream physique. There are a lot of promising weight management and non-surgical slimming treatments that offer to give you  that added push, but it never hurts to do your due research before booking that appointment. Let’s break down the factors you should consider in choosing between the Emsculpt and Myosculpt treatments.

Choosing based on the overall look

Slimming and toning treatments usually target the same areas of the body, which are the body parts where fat is naturally easier to gain. These are the abdomen, thighs, bum, calves, and arms. So to find the right process, you need to know what look you’re going for.

If you want an all-around slimming and toning process, then the Myosculpt would be the ideal treatment. As Dr. Belo explained, Myosculpt “firms up the muscle and also makes the size of the [individual] muscle [cells] get bigger.”

Emsculpt, on the other hand, is great as an add-on to your workout routine. It further amplifies the fruits of your workout, especially if you want a naturally lifted bum like Sue Ramirez.

Choosing based on your pain tolerance

Since pain tolerance differs from person to person, some slimming treatments are more tolerable than others. Since the Myosculpt really feels like you’re doing crunches while lying down—as Belo Baby Julia Barretto described it—there will be some discomfort from the muscle contractions.

Have a low pain tolerance? Then it’s Emsculpt for you! It uses HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology to induce muscle contractions that are typically unachievable during regular workouts. It’s all of the gains, with none of the pain. But don’t just take our word for it, let Coleen Garcia Crawford walk you through what it’s like during an Emsculpt session.

Choosing based on the downtime

And lastly, you’ll need to consider the downtime. While you can go about your day as usual after an Emsculpt session, Myosculpt would require you to not exercise for the next 24 hours after a session. Despite this small drawback, it’s a favourite of Belo couple Matteo Guidecelli and Sarah Geronimo.

Both treatments require several sessions for the results to visibly appear. The results of Emsculpt are best observed when you have the extra time once a week for five consecutive weeks. So if you don’t always have the time to go to the gym, Emsculpt can do the work for you.

Either way, you can rest easy that our doctors will ease you into the highest intensity you can manage. Remember, we’re here to be your trusted companions on your fitness journey. Take the first step by booking an appointment today.
