Pose with Your SO: Tips from Dr. Belo | Belo Medical Group

How to Pose With Your SO, According to Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho

By Ysabel Vitangcol on February 10, 2021

It’s one thing to be an expert at selfies, but it’s something special to nail great-looking photos with your special someone.

In the spirit of love month, we want to shine the spotlight on none other but our very own Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho. With their shared love of traveling, fashion, and being photographed, they have a natural flair for making their pics together look sweet and sophisticated. Posing with your SO shouldn’t be complicated. Let’s take a page out of their book and make our couple pics look all the more amazing.

  1. Use your “props.”

Dr. Belo and Dr. Kho are true jetsetters at heart, and it shows in their IG feeds. They know how to incorporate objects into their photos to inject a certain theme, just like this one which they had taken during a safari trip. This photo not only flaunts their clothes’ nature-inspired color scheme, but also makes good use of the jeep and the lush grasslands.

  1. Use your hands to flaunt your outfit and accessories.

Accessories can complete your look, and the doctors know just how to pull your eyes towards them. Doc Hayden casually stows one of his hands in his pants pocket, accentuating his printed top, while Dr. Belo holds the end of her bag’s strap, drawing your attention to the cute Mickey Mouse detail (and on her sweater, too!).

  1. Blend in with the background.

Sometimes, the less you’re posing, the more dramatic a photo looks. In this snapshot, Doc Hayden and Dr. Belo are simply enjoying quiet time outdoors. The bonfire may be in the foreground, but the couple cozying up are the real scene-stealers.

  1. Find your light.

A basic rule for any model is to find where the light is coming from. That’s because you’re able to sufficiently showcase your best features so that it’s well-illuminated and visible for the shot. In this photo, Doc Hayden shows off Dr. Belo’s beauty by turning his face against the light and letting hers get all the glory, while wrapping his arm around her.

  1. Play around with shadows and angles.

All straight-up angles can get boring after a while. That’s why it’s totally okay to switch things up a bit and opt for different angles, just like this photo of the doctors in Cinque Terre, Italy. The contrast of the ocean’s emerald green waters against Dr. Belo’s bright dress, along with the slanted shadows of the railing make for a dramatic look.

  1. Master your walking pose.

Not all photos have to be static and in frozen poses. Do a walking pose and let your partner lead you just like Dr. Hayden’s doing in this photo, creating depth. Since their whole body is in frame, they get to show off their getup, too, while still displaying eye-catching elements of the city they’re in in the background.

  1. Cross your feet.

If you’re on the petite side just like Dr. Belo and your SO is on the tall side, it doesn’t mean you have to automatically wear heels all the time in photos to make up for the height difference. In this snapshot, Dr. Belo is just wearing flats and by crossing her feet, she looks girlish and their couple photo looks so much cuter.

We hope that our favorite couple has inspired you and your sweetie to get even more creative for your couple pics. You don’t have to be pros to take stunning photos together, of course. Just play around with what’s available, and have fun!
