Slimming Treatments That Don’t Require Surgery

By admin on July 9, 2019

It’s no secret that, if you want to lose weight, you must be vigilant about watching your diet and burning calories through exercise. But sometimes your best efforts won’t be enough to get rid of deep and resistant fat deposits. When not even calorie-counting, weight-training nor cardio-aerobics are unable to minimize the lumps and bumps on your waist, thighs or arms, the thought of getting medical-cosmetic help is very welcome.

While Belo’s 360 Degrees Liposuction is still the gold standard for fat removal, the advent of non-invasive fat-blasting technologies has encouraged the clinic to offer other alternatives for patients with different concerns. “We have a variety of non-surgical slimming treatments for patients who fear surgical procedures, patients who are not medically cleared, or patients who have small amounts of fat on pinching,” says Dr. Eloi Buse, managing physician at Belo Medical Group. She goes on to say that those who have had liposuction done but retain minimal amounts of fat left in small areas are also perfect candidates for these treatments.

If sweating through 100 crunches a day and Pilates treatments are not enough to rid you of your stomach pooch, then you may want to consider EmSculpt, a painless, non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) to trigger intense muscle contractions and target fat loss in the stomach. A 30-minute session on the machine is equivalent to 20,000 muscle contractions or 20,000 sit-ups (i.e., your abdominal muscles are overworked but you won’t even have a single drop of sweat to show for it). The buttocks are another area marked for EmSculpt magic. This technology helps firm and lift the glutes minus the pain of excessive squatting. Talk about a life hack for achieving washboard abs and buns of steel!

So, back to that stubborn belly fat we were talking about. Apparently, fat is not just limited to the extra layer of padding located just below the skin (subcutaneous fat). It also includes visceral fat, which lies deep within the abdomen cavity, behind the muscles and surrounding your internal organs. Liposuction is unable to target visceral fat and, as an alternative, Belo suggests Viscero Sculpt, a painless fat-loss treatment that makes use of low magnetic energy to contract smooth muscle fibers and increase the body’s metabolism. You see a slight change after the first session, although Dr. Buse recommends 12 sessions to see optimal results.

Some patients opt for slimming treatments not because they want to lose fat, but because they want to get rid of something equally distressing: cellulite, the bane of 90 percent of women in the world. If you’ve tried every possible cream, high-tech gadget and treatment out there—even liposuction—to banish this lumpy, dimpled appearance on the skin but without any luck, then you may want to look into Unison. This machine “shocks away” orange peel skin by using monopolar radiofrequency, which increases blood supply to the skin, resulting in better lymphatic drainage, increased skin elasticity, and the elimination of fat cells. The treatment promises a smoother, dimple-free appearance after one 20-minute session with no negative after-effects or down-time. Unison can also be done after or coupled with liposuction.

V-contour, a popular face-slimming treatment, is also ideal for targeting localized stubborn fat in the body. This injectable treatment stimulates lymphatic circulation and drainage, which breaks down fat cells and accelerates their natural release through urination or perspiration.

Dr. Buse points out that, compared to liposuction, non-surgical results do not last as long, and that the permanency of results are—still—dependent on a patient’s diet and exercise.
