What’s the Thermage FLX treatment like?

Thermage FLX works its magic by delivering controlled radiofrequency energy deep into the layers of your skin. This energy gently heats the targeted tissues, stimulating collagen production and tightening existing collagen fibers. Collagen is the protein responsible for maintaining skin’s firmness and elasticity, but since it declines as we age, it causes pesky wrinkles and sagging. Is it painful?

The treatment is designed to be comfortable, and our patients report only mild discomfort during the procedure. Anesthesia or numbing creams are optional, too. 

How long is a Thermage FLX session?

One of the perks of Thermage FLX is that it’s quick! A typical session lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area. You can even do it during your lunch break and return to work, gaining the nickname here in Belo a “lunchtime lift”.

When will I see the results, and how long does this last?

You can see results almost instantly after the treatment, though very subtle. It may take a bit of time to unveil, around 2-3 months. Over time, your collagen production will improve, and the results will improve from there.

Though many of our Belo doctors recommend doing this only once a year, it’s still best to discuss with them during your consultation your aesthetic goals. The number of sessions will also depend on your skin’s condition, among others.

What side effects should I expect?

Some patients may experience minor redness or swelling, but it usually disappears within a few hours. You can resume your normal activities right after the treatment, which means no downtime to worry about!
