If there’s one way to describe Dr. Mitsy Navales Antolin, it’s that she’s a pocketful of sunshine.  A dedicated pediatric dentist and a long-time Belo patient, Mitsy brings warmth and positivity wherever she goes, especially when she steps into the Belo clinic, where she’s greeted like family.

Back for her monthly Glycopeel Cleaning, Mitsy sat down with the Belo team to share her incredible skincare journey. A  story spanning decades, filled with challenges, resilience, and trust in Belo.

A Lifelong Relationship with Belo

“I’ve been a patient of Dr. Belo since the early or mid-90s, in her first office in Medical Towers Makati,” the 52-year-old shared. “I’ve been a Belo patient ever since. My mom brought me there. At that time, she was already one of the top dermatologists in the country. I remember the first time I came, she was becoming popular in the ‘90s.”

As a teenager, Mitsy struggled with persistent acne, an issue that followed her through her 20s, 30s, and even during pregnancy. “I think at that time, she [Dr. Belo] was the first one who brought in the original Zein Obagi (ZO). It cleared my mom’s skin“ Seeing the transformation in her mother’s skin, thanks to Dr. Belo’s expertise, gave her the confidence to start her own journey to clearer skin.

The Struggle is Real

Acne wasn’t just a phase for Mitsy, It was a battle she fought for years. She tried various treatments, including Accutane, which provided temporary relief. But as soon as she stopped, the breakouts returned.

“I was getting more and more frustrated thinking that, okay, I’m in premenopause. Probably my hormones will tame down a  bit. But it was so bad.” she shares. 

“I’ve always been very insecure about my skin. It has always been a struggle.”
