“I was enjoying my job so much that I forgot to take care of myself,” she admits. “I found myself happy taking care of others, but physically, I wasn’t taking care of myself.”

The long hours and demanding nature of her profession eventually took a toll on her well-being. “I was gaining weight, and my nose was getting so unflattering,” she recalls. “My artists were beautiful, but when I looked in the mirror, I asked myself, ‘Do I still take care of myself?’”

“Doing rhinoplasty has been a quiet decision,” Caress says. “I have been trying to decide on that since the early 2000s.”.

For years, she struggled with insecurities about her nose but always found ways to carry herself with confidence. Still, she couldn’t ignore the feeling that something could be improved. “It’s different when you know your features could be more proportionate,” she says.

Like many others, fear kept her from finally taking the next step toward change. “One of my fears talaga was it might appear so pointed, or masyadong gawa,” she confides. “I was also afraid of what people might say. And I’ve seen cases where the face changes—eyes shift, features distort. That was what was stopping me.”

Before her rhinoplasty, Caress would hesitate to speak up in meetings or events. “I used to wait for my bosses to talk first,” she admits. “But now, I have this new confidence—I want to speak, I want to be seen. The procedure gave me a sense of security.”

Even her day-to-day routine transformed. “Before, I’d only fix myself up when needed. Now, even without special occasions, I enjoy taking care of myself. I appreciate myself more because of this improvement.”
