The Treatments That Give Vice Ganda Her “Hugis Bigas” Look

By Ysabel Vitangcol on October 20, 2020

Vice Ganda is a pretty elusive presence when it comes to skincare—she comes by our clinic rarely, but when she does, she only goes for treatments with long-term results. She’s got a very specific blueprint in mind: the “hugis bigas” look. And for years, the treatment she trusts to achieve that look is Belo V-Contour.

What does “hugis bigas” mean?

“Everytime na nagpopost ako ng selfie, ginagamit ko ‘yung hashtag na #HugisBigas,” Vice said in a 2018 interview with us. “‘Yun ‘yung shape ng face na matagal ko nang gustong magkaroon. ‘Yung manipis na mahaba na hindi chubby ‘yung cheeks. ‘Yun ang gusto ko.” As explained by Vice, “hugis bigas” takes inspiration from a grain of rice—slim and elongated, sans the chubby cheeks and square chin.

How does Vice achieve it?

“Dahil tapos na ang New Year…hindi na ako hugis bigas. Hugis rice cooker na ako ngayon, kaya kailangang manumbalik ang hugis bigas kong face. Kailangan ko nang mag-V-Contour,” Vice exclaimed last January at our Greenhills clinic. “Ang laki na ng face ko. Mga bakas ng lechon at street food sa Taiwan, bumalik. Sa tulong ng kanyang mahiwagang kamay at ng V-Contour, isang pikitan, tapos, payat ulit ang face ko.”

How does Belo V-Contour work?

Belo V-Contour is an injectable procedure that helps the targeted area slim down by dissolving fat and accelerating their natural release through the lymphatic system. In other words, it’s completely non-surgical. Apart from being ideal for those who wish to slim down their facial features, it’s also recommended for those with a square jawline or too-high cheeks.

How do I know if Belo V-Contour is for me?

Three words: stubborn, localized fat. If you’re trying and failing to get rid of the last five pounds, or have a double chin that just won’t budge, V-Contour is for you. Because it’s injectable, it can be targeted to super-specific parts of your body, giving you noticeable results. Check this out!

Who else has tried V-Contour?

Our very own Cristalle Belo had V-Contour done on her back to prepare for her 2016 wedding in Italy. Fellow #BeloBride Georgina Wilson tried V-Contour to bounce back post-partum in 2017. Yeng Constantino, Sunshine Dizon, and Vern Enciso are also big fans.

“Yung Thermage and V-Contour sa Belo, ‘yung mga procedures nila, sobrang bilis ng effect. Di ka masasaktan. Tapos ‘yung effect niya, right away, makikita mo. Looking good has to be your vice, everyday,” Vice said.

After this 10- to 15-minute procedure, there may be some minor swelling, but that should subside quickly! Otherwise, you can resume normal activities. So it’s safe to say you’ve finally found your solution! Goodbye, double chin. Goodbye, stubborn back fat. Goodbye, annoying belly. And hello, hugis bigas!
